At the end of October, 2012, I attended a work staff retreat. The retreat was at a very nice estate in the hill country just outside Austin, Texas, on Lake Austin (which is a damned up section of the Colorado River). Standing on top of the boathouse, we could easily see largemouth bass cruising in the clear water. So in between sessions I grabbed my fly rod and starting casting. I never connected with a bass, but did catch several Redbreast Sunfish on some wooly buggers and Madam X’s. These fish were good fighters! I’d like to go back to Lake Austin. It’s on my list of Texas waters to fish.

Cool! I was just reading the Fiberglass Manifesto and he is in a bluegill mood as well. Serendipity?
Absolutely, Mark. I just checked out Cameron’s post as well. It’s time the Bluegill gets the respect it deserves!
