Today was an absolutely GORGEOUS day! It seemed a crime to be inside most of the day. As soon as I got home from work I grabbed my 6wt Sage, a chest pack and went to a local pond. The wind was gusting 15-20 mph, so my casting options were a little limited (at least for my skill level). I started with a fatal attraction, but had no takers. When I got to the downwind end of the pond, I tied on a yellow popper I had been using last summer. I connected with a nice bass (about 1.5 larger than the one pictured here) on the first cast of that popper. I jumped a few times, and eventually threw my popper. I threw back to the exact same spot and landed this fish on the very next cast. Nothing else from the afternoon. Back home in time for supper.
Tight lines!

I thought this post was from the summer. Poppers and bass in early march? Nice!
Thanks! I was a little surprised myself.
